Many families find that their insurance doesn’t cover all the costs associated with a transplant. These costs include the search for a donor or cord blood unit, travel and lodging when the transplant center is far from home, caregiver or patient lost wages, prescription co-pays, and many other transplant related costs. Be The Match® helps provide financial assistance to patients and their families in need of financial assistance before, during, and after transplant. These grants help patients financially so they can focus on what matters most – healing.

Clinic Co-Pays

$25 helps cover one clinic visit co-pay for a marrow transplant recipient.

Meals and Transportation

$100 covers two days of meals for a patient and their caregiver during outpatient recovery.

Housing Costs

$500 secures one week of temporary housing for a patient and their caregiver near the transplant center.

$1,000

Transplant Recovery Grant

$1,000 Transplant Recovery Grant: Patients must be accompanied by a full-time caregiver for the first 100 days post-transplant. Up to two incomes may be lost. Grants help with uninsured expenses.

$5,000 – $15,000

Crisis Grant Fund

Crisis Grants are awarded to patients facing extraordinary financial hardship. Ranging from $5,000–$15,000, these grants meet the unique needs of each patient and provide a lifeline of tangible support.

$20,000

Search Assistance Fund

$20,000 gives physicians immediate access to a marrow donor search for a patient in need, regardless of the patient’s insurance limitations or delays.
